TWELVE DREAMS

TWELVE DREAMS – DIRECTOR
Projection design inspired by one of the dreams of the play by James Lapine

Once upon a time I was on the moon where there was a desert. And I started to sink real deep into the sand and the next thing I knew I was in Hell, where everything was red and hot

How can we create a narrative starting from the intent of minimizing as much as possible the use of technology, by keeping only one INput and one OUTput?

Inspired by one of the dreams of the play by James Lapine – Twelve Dreams – the narrative involved the production of the 3D model box as the set within the set to link to the play within the dream environment which the play unfolds around.

The video was produced with live feeding that from the camera would go straight to the projector.
The sidelight that lit the model, placed at the center of the room, allows creating a “feedback” effect without using any software.

Simple and fascinating, the projector feeds itself with the output video, allowing to create this loop delay that creates this dreamy environment, and sometimes also allows to lit the actor downstage
